Many times, the results are feelings of anger, fear, shock, guilt, depression, and severe anxiety. It overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope. As these feelings expand, or the incidents continue, a First Responder’s need for assistance multiplies.

The First Responder Assistance Program is included with your Accident & Health Insurance coverage. It provides solutions through experienced Behavioral Health clinicians specializing in healing emotional trauma, stress injuries, and stress incidents. This can help a First Responder mentally and physically heal from the traumatic experience, de-stress, feel whole again, and gain confidence to move forward.

The First Responder Assistance Program includes 24/7/365 access to confidential consultations with master’s-level clinicians who listen, provide guidance, and, when necessary, can provide referrals to screened resources for work-life assistance services for you and your family members.

• First Responders have immediately connected to a Behavioral Health Trauma Specialist experienced in critical incident stress management to help the caller compartmentalize the incident, stop worrying, reenergize, and get some rest

• All communication is 100% confidential; no identifying information is released to your department, supervisors, or peers
• Your conversations are protected as a medical provider-patient privileged communication

The First Responder Assistance Program Trauma Helpline is staffed by a team of crisis management experts, all of whom are master’s level clinicians, specially trained in crisis management and traumatic events support.

The First Responder Assistance Program is administered by BHS^TM, a leader in providing emotional and behavioral health consultations, in partnership with Responders 1st Call^TM

The First Responder Assistance Program includes confidential consultation, resources and referrals for the everyday concerns that can cause distractions and loss of focus when it is most important. 

Assistance is available to you and your family to address and alleviate work or personal stressors and emotional health issues such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, family relationships, childcare, eldercare, financial and legal concerns, or other events that interfere with daily life.

The First Responder Assistance Program is not insurance and is provided through Provident Agency, Inc. by BHS^TM in partnership with Responders 1^st Call^TM. This program is included with Accident & Health insurance coverage underwritten by AXIS Insurance Company and provided through Provident.
