What is the true meaning of Memorial Day?

Memorial Day was declared a national holiday through an act of Congress in 1971, and its roots date back to the Civil War era, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Unlike Veterans Day, Memorial Day honors all military members who have died in while serving in U.S. forces.

Falling on the last Monday of May each year, Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in all branches of the U.S. military—more than 1.1 million military personnel in all conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the war on terror.

Memorial Day is about pausing our everyday lives to remember military veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

So, can you say “Happy Memorial Day?” Yes, of course, you can… especially if it comes from a place of grateful joy for the life we live today that was provided by the sacrifices of generations before. On Memorial Day, take time to reflect on the men and women who gave it all for us.

All of the above were posted over the past couple of days, by various persons not myself, so to those who wrote those words please forgive my lack of citations, but I don’t think anyone was looking for personal credit when they contributed their posts to the internet, but I would like to thank them anyway for their words that needed to be heard by as many as possible – as a US Navy Veteran who didn’t die in combat, today is not about me, it’s about my brothers & sisters in arms who can no longer be thanked for their service – but to their surviving family members I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifice they endured being the loved one of someone who died in service to their country.

Cj Contractor Services has always been veteran owned & operated, and on this day, Memorial Day 2022, all profits will be donated to veterans and their families, and by the end of the day my goal is to be able to declare the formation of Americas Finest Carpet & Flooring – a subsidiary I’m looking to franchise as a non-profit company that employs disabled veterans, able bodied veterans, and supporters willing to donate the proceeds of their contractor services to those who served without asking, to ensure all Americans have the freedom to exist and to capitalize on that existence how they so choose.

Happy Memorial Day wishes from Cj Contractor Services to every American whether they served or not – those being remembered today would have wanted it that way. For those of us still dealing with the loss of someone we loved, find happiness in the company of someone we still have.

Happy Memorial Day from Cj Contractor Services
