American Politicians love Free Speech until an American knows their secrets-

I was reading a WSJ article that the Biden administration is finally taking action against TikTok. The only thing worse than Americans know the secrets of the American government is the Russian or Chinese governments knowing secrets. If you’ve been alive in the last decade or two you’re well aware of privacy concerns with social media, which only recently became a problem the government was concerned about because the Musk / Twitter takeover exposed how much and occasionally what was being censored from the American people.

Love him or hate him, every American has the right to know their Presidents mind when he’s transparent enough to post it on social media. Censoring Donald Trump was a crime against every American, I don’t care how crazy, stupid or compelling it might have been- every American has a guaranteed constitutional right to know what it was our President was saying from his own mouth; don’t censure it and then try to bring it out in investigations later, that’s a waste of time, taxpayer dollars and an insult to our intelligence.

TikTok is the only social media platform I’ve intentionally never used- never even looked at. I know how big tech companies like Facebook and Google collect personal information, and my personal information doesn’t include anything I can think of that would interest the Chinese Communist Party, but just out of principle, there’s too many other social media platforms that offer the same things.

Twitter doesn’t hold the influence it once did, at least I don’t think it does. It seems EVERYONE is switching to TikTok and THAT presents a problem. There’s probably already enough government secrets to start a war with China, and I’m not exactly pro-cover-up, but I’m definitely anti-war with China. I think we’re already pushing things VERY CLOSE. Ukraine is dragging us towards war with Russia, at least a proxy war using a bunch of our allies that happen to not be allies with Russia / China/ Iran – the world’s new rat pack. No offense intended towards the original Rat Pack, but I though it sounded an accurate nickname for what we’re facing.

War is necessary for defense, but constantly being involved in wars with countries that have never attacked us WILL eventually provoke enough enemies to start conflict. On a global scale, a super-power faces only two choices – perpetual war or perpetual peace. If we don’t approve of a bad actor but don’t think WWIII is the best solution – it’s about time we give “turn the other cheek” a try instead of Point and Shoot.

If only I could slide this in Mr Biden’s presidential decree that we disarm more private Americans- if we don’t have the right to defend ourselves as we see fit like the Constitution says we do, at least don’t lose the ability to do it with what may possibly still be the strongest military on Earth.
